Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Recycling
How to dispose of electrical and electronic equipment
Electrical devices are marked with the following symbol, which means that electrical and electronic devices must not be disposed of with household waste. They may contain hazardous substances which, if exposed, could cause a serious detrimental effect on the environment, wildlife, and human health.
Don't forget to:
● Erase all personal or confidential data before recycling an old device. ● Remove old batteries that are not sealed in old devices, as well as lamps/ light bulbs that can be removed easily. These must be separated non-destructively from the old devices before being recycled at a collection point.
If you would like to dispose of your waste electrical or electronic equipment for recycling, we recommend that you:
● Donate the unwanted item to a charitable organisation
● Take it to an authorised recycling collection point run by your local authority for free of charge recycling. For more information about collection points in Germany, visit ERP Deutschland or EAR - E-waste return finder
● Remove light bulbs from lighting which can be easily recycled and take to Lightcycle Collection Points
